MCC Spam Messages

The MCC Spam filter is actively filtering between 350,000 and 400,000 pieces of spam daily, but as Yogi Berra once said: "If the world were perfect it wouldn’t be."

Recently, MCC has been attacked by stealth spam.  This spam looks like a real message to the filter and passes all the checks and balances that the filter is using to determine if a message is spam or not.  ETS is working with the vendor to further reduce the amount of spam making its way to the desktop.  If you are one of the unfortunates that are still seeing this spam, please remember that these messages are produced to entice you to click on the link.  DO NOT click on any links in any email that you have not requested.  Doing so may infect your computer with a virus or spyware that could be used to steal your data and your identity.  This information could be used to impersonate you for network or email access or even identity theft!
