College for Parents a Success

The Monroe Community College Admissions Office, in partnership with MCC's Financial Aid Office, hosted "College 101 for Parents - Financial Aid and Scholarships" seminar to a capacity crowd of 300 on Wednesday, February 15, 2006.  Jerome St. Croix, Director of Financial Aid presented an informative workshop to help parents better understand Financial Aid.  Joan Moorehead, Admissions Counselor, presented on "Scholarship Search," based on her own experience as a parent.

College 101 for Parents in its third year has reached its goal of educating parents and college-bound students on the college planning process.  Originating as a 2003 Strategic Planning grant, College for Parents has quickly become a valuable resource for our community.  By annually providing these College-planning workshops as a resource to college-bound students and their parents, the Admissions Office has established itself as a premier resource for college-planning information for our community.
