AAWCC Women's History Month Bus Tour Was a Success!

On Saturday March 21st, a group of 25 faculty, staff, friends, sisters, mothers, and daughters participated in AAWCC at MCC’s 2nd Annual Women’s History Month Bus Tour.  The group enjoyed a guided tour of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Home in Fayetteville, Harriett Tubman Home in Auburn and Lunch at the Craftsman Inn.

At the close of the day, a journal started on last year’s inaugural trip was circulated among the travelers capturing the following thoughts:

“Today has been an amazing day, my sister and I truly had an opportunity to spend time together and learn more about inspirational women who have made a significant impact on women’s rights…….we need to keep fighting the fight for women today, tomorrow and into the future.”  Toni Custodio

“WOW, what an amazing trip!  These two courageous women that I learned about today; Matilda and Harriet make me so proud to be alive and living such a blessed life.  I owe my life’s worth to them………..Happy Women’s History Month!” Tracy Archie

“What a perfect day to spend with my teenage daughter…we learned how women before us paved the way to our freedom and rights (we enjoy today).  There is still work to do and passing this this message along to the next generation is vital…..”  Valerie Couderc

AAWCC at MCC would like to thank our generous sponsors who made this trip possible: The AAWCC National Organization and The MCC Diversity Council.

Together we are changing women’s lives through education, service and leadership development. We hope you will consider joining us next year!
