AAWCC Lends a Hand

On Saturday April 9th members of the American Association of the Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) and MCC students volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House Red Tie Gala held at the Hyatt Regency Rochester.  The volunteer group that went in the morning--Julianna Frisch, Janna Davenport, Yolanda Johnson, Courtney Belluccio, Billy Belknap, and Kelsey Schneider--were kept busy hanging decorations, moving silent auction items, and even rearranging the items to look more attractive on the tables.  In the evening,  Laura Coriddi, Kathleen Conklin, and Mary Timmons helped with everything from manning an auction table to moving auction items when the event ended.

The event was once again a large success. (delete: for the Ronald McDonald House.)  Ronald McDonald House Charities provide a home-away-from-home for families who need to be near their children who are are receiving health care in Rochester area hospitals.   The closest house in our area is located on Westmoreland Drive.  They are always looking for donations whether food, clothes, or monetary.  For more information, or to donate items, please go to https://www.ronaldshouse.com/.

As a reminder – our last Service Project is coming up so save the date. On June 25th, the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of American is holding their Take Steps To Be Heard for Crohns and Colitis Walk right here at MCC.  More information will be coming out shortly.
