MCC hosted the annual meeting of the Monroe County Farm Bureau for the first time on Thursday evening, Sept. 27, in the Warshof Conference Center. State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets Patrick Hooker provided the keynote address.
Dick Degus, executive assistant to the president, and Bob King, director of MCC’s Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute, welcomed the group of about 50 area farmers to the college. The Farm Bureau members viewed an audio-visual presentation for a kiosk that will be located at several locations through the year including the airport, MCC, and the Rochester public market. Watch for forthcoming details on that initiative.
Farm Bureau members also discussed pertinent issues and local, state and national policies of potential impact in 2008. For more information on agriculture in NY state, visit <https://www.agmkt.state.ny.us/>.
