Mail Distribution Services Resume

In order to ensure your safety and MCC's compliance with state and county directives to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Mail Services Department has developed the following distribution process.

Beginning today, March 27, mail distribution will be prioritized for high mail volume departments and offices, including:

  • Admissions
  • Controller (checks and invoices)
  • Financial Aid
  • Health Services
  • Human Resources
  • Records and Registration
  • Residence Halls
  • Student Accounts

The mail distribution process is as will follows:

  • MCC Mail Services will be pick up from the post office daily.
  • Mail Services staff will sort the mail and package it in preparation for distribution.
  • Mail pick up will be once per week for high mail volume departments between 10:30 am and 12:00 noon Monday - Friday.
  • Representatives of the Office of the President, Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services Division, and the MCC Foundation are invited to collect mail once per week.
  • An Academic Services representative will pick up mail for all departments in the division.
  • Mail for Housing & Residence Life and resident students will be placed outside the Canal Hall office daily by 10:15 am. Mail Services will contact the office upon arrival by phone to insure no physical contact is made. Once the Mail Services representative leaves the premises and is back in the vehicle, a Canal Hall staff member will retrieve the mail.
  • For instances when urgent mail is expected, representatives of all other MCC offices are to call the Mail Center at 292-2269 to arrange for a pick up.

At this time and until further notice, access to MCC campuses is limited to a small number of critical staff (article). Do not come to campus unless designated to do so.

Individuals designated to pick up mail are asked to call the Mail Center at 292-2269 upon arrival to the Brighton Campus, identify the department they are representing and wait outside the sliding glass doors. Mail will be placed inside the airlock for safe pickup.

Entry to Brighton Campus buildings is limited to the Spina Administration Building, first floor (lower level sliding glass doors). Mail distribution will occur in the air lock entry area.

Thank you for your cooperation and adherence to this process.
