Save the Date: Teaching & Creativity Center's Fall Forum, October 16

The DCC Teaching & Creativity Center is pleased to host its first Fall Forum on Friday, October 16.  This is a half-day program focused on the TCC’s 2015-16 theme: Helping Students Learn How to Learn.  The Forum will be at the Damon City Campus and all MCC full-time and adjunct faculty are invited to participate.

We’ll begin at 9am with a discussion of the role of metacognition in learning and then offer participants the opportunity to continue with focused discussion as well as to create materials that they can use in classes. Participants will have a choice of workshops and the program will conclude with lunch.  Workshop topics will include: helping students learn how to develop and apply goal-setting strategies to enhance their academic experience; helping students learn how to practice effective note-taking from either lecture or text; helping students learn how to use textbook features and learn more effectively from their textbooks and other print materials.

Registration information will appear in the Tribune in mid-September.
