First Student Aide Scholarship Awarded

On May 5th the first Linda Curran Memorial Student Aide Scholarship was awarded at a luncheon to celebrate Linda’s legacy and honor our own MCC student employees.  Alyson Hallett from the Education department and Yuliana Poplavskiy who works in the Financial Aid office each received a $750 scholarship.  A special thanks to Chris Otero and Kendra Drake, both former student aides, who spoke about how having the opportunity to work with Linda made a tremendous impact on their experience at MCC and the paths they have followed.

Through the generosity of the Curran family, pictured below with the recipients, contributions from friends and MCC family members the scholarship is endowed, but we need to continue our fundraising efforts.   Please consider joining the “Laps for Linda” team for this year’s
Alumni Week and Homecoming 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships on September 27th  or contact the Foundation to make a donation.
