Passing of Karen Cooper, Mother of Cynthia Cooper


I am saddened to inform you of the passing of Karen (Whittaker) Cooper, mother of Cynthia Cooper, director of College and Community Relations. Originally from Blossburg, Pa., Mrs. Cooper, died Friday, December 29, 2006 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 65 years old.

Mrs. Cooper and her husband of 47 years, Charles Cooper, owned and operated Cooper’s Sporting Goods in Mansfield, Pa. for many years. She was a volunteer for the Mansfield Free Public Library and Santa’s Gift Bag.

She is survived by her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law; two daughters and a son-in-law; three grandchildren; and a brother.

Mrs. Cooper’s memorial service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 2 in Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Mansfield Free Public Library, 71 N. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933, or to the Mansfield Ambulance Association, 381 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933.
