Damon City Campus Entrance

Beginning Monday, June 8, 2015, the Department of Public Safety will initiate a pilot program at the Damon City Campus whereby all students, faculty, staff and visitors will be directed to the 5th floor entrance in order to gain access to the campus.  The 4th floor Public Safety Desk will remain unstaffed throughout the summer months.

The 5th floor desk will be staffed throughout the summer months Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and on Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This trial program will relieve the necessity of having to staff a fixed location and allow officers and guards greater mobility and presence throughout the campus.  If the program is successful, the area encompassing the current 4th floor Public Safety desk has the potential of becoming additional student study space.  Furthermore, the program will serve as a precursor to how the community will access the new downtown campus in the fall of 2017.

As the program is monitored throughout the summer months, I encourage anyone with a comment, concern or suggestion to contact the DCC Public Safety supervisor, Lt. Ray Sprague at 262-1650 or <mailto:rsprague@monroecc.edu>.

I would like to thank the DCC students, faculty, staff and administrators who were consulted during the planning phase of this pilot program.  Your involvement has been invaluable and exemplifies the collaborative spirit that exists throughout the Damon City Campus.  Having input from, and understanding the expectations of, the community we serve is the driving force behind the level and quality of Public Safety operations.

Thank you.
