Learn About a Student Services Office & Help Contribute to its Improvement

Student Services is looking for volunteers outside of the division to serve on assessment teams. This is a great opportunity to learn more about a Student Services office and help contribute to our continual improvement in offering services that combine learning and student life.

Student Services uses the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) Self-Assessment Guides (SAGs) to assess each office in the division on a three year rotation. Assessment teams typically meet for one hour each week, January - April to review the SAG, complete criterion measures, and make recommendations for areas that do not meet or minimally meet the standard.

Final reports are shared with the Director of the department, Student Services Associate Vice Presidents, and the Vice President of Student Services. Recommendations are taken into consideration to inform future goals in Compliance Assist.

The offices that will be assessed this cycle are:

  • Admissions
  • Advising and Transfer Services
  • Counseling and Disability Services
  • Financial Aid
  • Student Life and Leadership
