Information about the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Our office would like to recognize the devestating earthquake that has impacted Turkey and Syria as well as the collective sorrow among the diaspora of community members around the world and here in our local area.  The Rochester area has a significant number of families from Turkey and Syria and many of them attend school here at MCC.    

We also have many students from countries around the world that are impacted by displacement due to ongoing conflict, natural disasters, and economic and climate crises.    

The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was created in 1950 to assist Europeans in the aftermath of the second world war.  Today, it continues to support refugees and emergencies around the world.
