MCC Foundation Officers Announced


The Monroe Community College Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce its officers for 2005-2006.

Richard S. Warshof (Penfield) serves as chair of the MCC Foundation board. Warshof is an MCC alumnus (Class of 1968) and has served as a board director since 1991, most recently as executive vice chair of development. He also served as treasurer to Building on Success: The Campaign for Monroe Community College that raised over $11 million for MCC. Warshof was area vice president for marketing and business development for Paychex, Inc. prior to his retirement.

Howard Konar (Pittsford) serves as chair elect. Konar has been a director of the MCC Foundation Board since 1997 and also served as a member of the Building on Success campaign cabinet. His involvement in the college includes serving as chair of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project Advisory Board. Konar is president of Konar Properties based in West Henrietta.

Leonard E. Redon (Pittsford) is immediate past chair of the board and vice chair of the Building on Success capital campaign. Under his leadership, the MCC Foundation reached significant milestones for annual giving, planned giving and special event participation. Redon joined the board in 1998 and is vice president of western operations of Paychex, Inc.

Alan Resnick (Irondequoit) is treasurer and finance chair. He has been a director of the MCC Foundation board since 1999. Resnick served as vice president and treasurer of Bausch & Lomb, Inc. prior to his retirement.

Diana Lauria (Walworth) is secretary to the MCC Foundation Board. She joined the board in 1993 and served previously as its vice chair of special events. Lauria participates as a member of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project Advisory Board at the college. Prior to retirement, Lauria was vice president of corporate banking for JPMorgan Chase.

Brenda Babitz (Brighton), president of the MCC Foundation, is also a member of the board’s executive committee. Babitz has led the foundation since 1990 and continues to raise the bar for annual fund giving, planned giving, capital campaigns and alumni programming for America’s community colleges. In April 2005, Babitz was selected to join the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) Commission on Philanthropy that frames and directs research to evaluate professional development practices.
