Thanksgiving Food Drive - Your Help Provides Meals and Hope

In all the hustle and bustle of getting ready for Thanksgiving, please take a moment to focus on what being thankful is all about.

The American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC), Wellness Council, Sodexo and MCC Support Staff Professional Development & Planning Council is in need of non-perishable or monetary donations to assist students in need of a Thanksgiving dinner.  Please consider donating to be sure that our MCC students and their families have a great Thanksgiving. We will be collecting food and monetary donations November 16 – 20, 2015 for the First Year Experience (FYE) Food Pantry. Please see the attached flyer for details on the drop off locations and suggested items.

The FYE Food Pantry began approximately 11 years ago as the Peer Mentors identified a need on campus: that many fellow students are going without food.  They put out the first call to the college community to donate non-perishable food items. Students in need are referred to the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development by college staff and students.

If you know a student in need, please help to protect their confidentiality by directing them to the Health Services Office in 3-165 or to the Counseling Center and Veterans Services Office at 3-103/105.

Special Note:  A Zumba-a-thon will be held on Monday (11/16) from 4-7pm in the Dance Studio (10-143).   Bring a canned good or monetary donation to participate. Please see attached flyer for more details.

Thank you for all that you do and your continued support.
