In recognition of National Philanthropy Day, the Monroe Community College Foundation has nominated individual and corporate philanthropists for Association of Fundraising Professionals Genesee Valley Chapter awards. Today, please join the MCC Foundation in honoring MCC’s Health Care Partners, nominees for the Outstanding Corporation Award.
Since its inception, MCC has educated nurses for Greater Rochester. The college’s relationships with the local health care community have remained strong for nearly 50 years—with hospitals providing clinical sites and valuable learning opportunities for our students. MCC approached its health care partners for financial support in order to expand its nursing program in response to a critical nursing shortage. Representatives of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, MVP Health Care, Rochester General Hospital Foundation, Strong Memorial Hospital and Unity Health valued the positive impact MCC could have on the nursing shortage and combined forces to make the expansion possible!
Since 2002, these five organizations have together given in excess of $2.7 million to MCC, resulting in a successful program expansion and 280 more nursing graduates for Greater Rochester. Ninety-three percent of nursing program graduates work locally and serve the community’s health care needs.
Please take a moment to read the nomination attached below and join the MCC Foundation and the Greater Rochester community in recognizing the leadership and philanthropy of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, MVP Health Care, Rochester General Hospital Foundation, Strong Memorial Hospital and Unity Health.
The award recipients will be announced at the National Philanthropy Day luncheon tomorrow November 5 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. To learn more about the AFP Genesee Valley Chapter, please visit https://www.afpgv.org
