MCC will host the ITC audioconference entitled "Virtual Student Activities" scheduled for Tuesday, February 15 at 4:00 in the Board Lounge. Presenter Jim Connolly is the Student Activities Coordinator at St. Petersburg College (SPC) St. Petersburg, FL. SPC has been developing Virtual Student Activities (VSA) over the past year. It was determined that the many online students at SPC were not receiving the benefit of a full college experience. These students were paying activity fees and not receiving activities in return. It was their intention to create a vehicle to engage students, heighten student awareness and involvement while virtually attending SPC. To fill this void SPC has designed several methods by which the students can participate in school activities. Topics to be discussed during the audioconference are activities within the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa and plans for the future.
