Difficult Conversations During A Time Of Unrest Across America Webinar

During these difficult times, it is important that we are able to find support and assistance to help us manage these circumstances. We often find community and support in the work environment and that allows us to process our feelings and reactions to these tragic events. Working remotely, we don't have the ability to interact with each other and tap into the support and comfort of our work families.

To provide you with an opportunity to participate in these discussions in a different format, I am sharing with you an invite that the College received from our EAP provider, ComPsych, to their webinar.

Information regarding this event appears below:

On Wednesday, June 3 at 2PM Central time, ComPsych will present a live webinar called Difficult Conversations During A Time Of Unrest Across America. Millions of people across the country have read about and watched footage from tragic events over the past several days. It's normal for events like this to generate strong feelings, which often carry over to conversations at home and at the workplace. Discussions about polarizing issues that surface can be tense or even downright destructive. Avoiding such conversations is not always a good solution. For children, events like this can help shape their belief systems. It's important for adults to pay attention to the way they respond to children during these times. In this webinar, we'll discuss ways to have healthy discussions about polarizing topics without damaging your important relationships. We'll also discuss productive ways to talk about the events with children.

Important Information About Capacity Limits and Recordings:

The live webinar has capacity limitations, and it is likely that this webinar will exceed capacity. If that happens, some people will receive a message informing them that the session is full when they try to join. Although the webinar itself has capacity limitations, we are not limiting the number of people who can register. By allowing everyone to register, we are able to gather email addresses and send all registrants a recording of the session within 24 hours of the live webinar. Rest assured, if you are unable to get in to the live session, you will receive an email with access to the recording.
