MCC and 292-BABY Support Early Literacy:  The 2015 Rochester Children’s Book Festival

The 2015 Rochester Children’s Book Festival brought thousands to campus on November 7 to take part in the Rochester Children’s Book Festival. This was the sixth straight year that MCC and 292-BABY have hosted the event. Next year we will celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary, and it will again be hosted in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus. Save the date – November 12, 2016!

The event received some of very positive feedback. Here’s what Jody, a local Altrusa (an international non-profit organization focused on community service) representative, had to say:  “Congratulations to all the RACWI (Rochester Area Children's Writers and Illustrators) members on the great recognition of your wonderful Book Festival. I know you have had some struggles through the years with finding a good venue and getting the word out; but where the Festival is now is a testament to the dreams and determination that you all have.  All of us at Altrusa are very proud to work with you in promoting literacy and helping children realize the fun and adventure that exists in printed word and illustrations—not everything needs to be part of a video game.  Here’s to many more years of great Book Festivals—and Book Festival to Go.”
