"How to Be Creative" College-wide Professional Development -- New Dates and Times

Due to illness, we have rescheduled the dates and times for “How to Be Creative” with Dr. Ron Friedman.  The presentations will now be held as follows:

Thursday, May 14
2pm-3pm
DCC 4193

Friday, May 15
12 noon-1pm
Brighton Campus, Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Empire Room)

We tend to believe that creativity is fixed -- that people either have it or they don’t. But as you’ll discover in this talk, this assumption is false. There are concrete techniques that anyone can use to elevate their creativity.  You'll hear what research has uncovered about creative thinking and discover practical steps you can integrate into your routine to produce new and useful ideas at work and at home.

These workshops will be led by Dr. Ron Friedman, an award-winning psychologist and the author of a new book from Penguin Random House/Perigee, titled “The Best Place to Work: The Art and Science of Creating an Extraordinary Workplace.” An expert on human motivation, Friedman has served on the faculty of the University of Rochester, Nazareth College, and Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and consulted for some of the world’s most successful organizations. Popular accounts of his research have appeared on NPR and in major newspapers, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Vancouver Post, the Globe and Mail, The Guardian, as well as magazines such as Men’s Health, Shape, and Allure. He contributes to the blogs of Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Forbes, 99u, and Psychology Today.
