President Kress honored as Woman of Distinction

President Anne Kress was honored as a “Woman of Distinction” by the New York State Senate at a ceremony and reception in Albany yesterday.  Senator Joseph E. Robach designated President Kress Woman of Distinction for the 56th District, commending her for her contributions and service to the community.  The Woman of Distinction Program has been a feature of the Senate’s observance of Women’s History Month since 1998 and honors women in New York state who exemplify personal or professional excellence and integrity.

In addition, the Senate has created an exhibit of historic women of distinction whose enormous contributions are still felt today.  The exhibit, featuring women from New York or with strong connections to New York—such as Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, and several emergency first responders in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001—was on display in the Legislative Office Building March 14-18.
