MCC Student Selected for First Area College Partnership

The CEO of Paetec recently offered a wonderful opportunity for the "right" MCC student.  In an effort to keep good, educated, local talent in the Rochester, area, Paetec is sponsoring a two-semester paid co-op.  The student will actually work for the Rochester Business Alliance, but the funding for this co-op student will be coming from Paetec.  The CEO of Paetec selected MCC to be the first and only college in the area to partner in this way.

Interested students applied through the Cooperative Education Office at Monroe Community College.  They were first interviewed through the co-op office, and only the top five students were then interviewed by the Rochester Business Alliance.  A student willing to take advantage of this opportunity will need to enroll in the Business co-op seminar in the spring semester, and will work between 10-20 hours per week from October 2004 - May 2005.  Students were required to have good PC skills, and they needed to carry a B+ - A cumulative average.

Katie Oeschle, Business Major and active member of Phi Theta Kappa, came highly recommended by both Mitch Redlo and Todd Korol of the Business Department.  The Co-op Office sent over some very high caliber students to RBA, and Katie was given the honors.  It was an incredible opportunity for the Rochester Community, an incredible opportunity for MCC, and, we have no doubt that both Katie and the RBA will benefit from this partnership.
