Xerox Recognized Nationally for Support of MCC

Xerox has been selected to receive the 2012 Council for Resource Development (CRD) Benefactor Award for its support of MCC.

In addition to helping guide the development of MCC and its foundation for the past 50 years, Xerox has contributed more than $7 million to support student success at MCC, most recently pledging $350,000 to attract more students to and expand educational opportunities in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and math). Xerox is the largest corporate contributor to MCC and views its investment in MCC as one that reaps solid returns for Greater Rochester employers and the community.

“MCC and the MCC Foundation congratulate Xerox on this prestigious, national award,” said MCC President Anne M. Kress, Ph.D. “Xerox has been incredibly supportive of our students, making it possible for talented individuals to access a high quality higher education that gives them the skill sets they need in the new, knowledge-based economy.”

Xerox Corporate Vice President for Communications and Social Responsibility and Xerox Foundation President Joseph M. Cahalan, Ph.D. will accept the award on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 during the 46th annual CRD Conference in Washington D.C.

Each year, the CRD Benefactor Award recognizes seven individuals, organizations, foundations, and/or businesses for outstanding contributions to community colleges. The CRD Benefactor Award embodies the ideals of philanthropy, leadership and volunteerism in the service of community, technical, and junior colleges. It is the only national showcase to recognize donors to the nation’s community colleges.
