Bailey Named to NJCAA Hall of Fame


Monroe Community College Athletic Director Dudley “Skip” Bailey was recently announced as a member of the 2011 Baseball Hall of Fame Class released by the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association.

Mr. Bailey has enjoyed a successful career as a player, head coach, and administrator at MCC.  He was a five-time Region III Coach of the Year and led the Tribunes to a record of 451 wins and 204 losses from 1996-2007.  His 2007 team won the East District Championship and advanced to the NJCAA Division II World Series.  He began at MCC as a baseball player in the mid-1970s and helped the Tribunes earn a spot in the 1976 NJCAA JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.  He later transferred to the University of Colorado and was named an All-Big Eight Honoree in 1978.

Mr. Bailey serves as NJCAA Region III Men’s Assistant Director and chairs the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee.  In addition, he is currently President of the Western New York Athletic Conference and Chair of the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Committee.  He participates as a Youth Clinic Lecturer and is the Director of the Midwest Baseball Academy.  A long-time member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, he has served on numerous committees.

The induction ceremony will take place on May 27 during the NJCAA Division I World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, which runs May 27-June 4.
