Upcoming Book Drive to Support RCSD K-12 Students

Are you planning to do a little spring cleaning next week?

Please consider donating any gently used (or new) books to an upcoming book drive at MCC.

The MCC Library and Academic Services are hosting a faculty and staff book drive gathering on April 30, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the North Atrium. Please join us for coffee where faculty and staff will be encouraged to donate books and share a message on an Inspiring Everyday Bookmark that describes how the book inspired them. This message, along with the book, will be passed on to the new owner. This event will support donating books to K-12 students in the Rochester City School District on behalf of the Rochester Education Foundation. Monetary donations will be accepted at the event.

Unable to attend the event? No worries!

The Anime Club, Cabbages and Kings, and the Health, Physical Education and Wellness Club are coordinating a book drop-off during the dates of April 28, 2014 to May 2, 2014.  The student clubs will be encouraging everyone to drop off their gently used or new books at several key drop locations at the DCC and Brighton Libraries, Applied Technologies Center, and the Public Safety Training Facility. Look for the book drop-offs and encourage the entire college community to donate their new or gently used books to support K-12 students in the Rochester City School District.

We look forward to hearing what book inspires you!
