On April 8, a group of Upward Bound students left for a Heritage College tour. The tour included visits to Virginia Union University, Bowie State University, Temple University, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Virginia State University, Morgan State University, and Howard University. The students were able to see a variety of schools ranging in size, location, and general student population. The students were chaperoned by Upward Bound Program Staff, including Alice Gray, Shameka Martinez, and Carmelita Brown-Wallace.
During their trip, the students visited the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial in Washington, DC, the Liberty Bell, and The White House. The students had a great time touring colleges and sightseeing. The Upward Bound Program looks forward to hosting more successful college tours in the future.
