January Wellness Programs and Discounts: Register Today!


If you’re like most people, you are starting off 2016 with good intentions, maybe with a resolution or two.  The best way to ensure a successful resolution is to be realistic and be GOOD to yourself!

To help you get 2016 off to a great start, please consider joining the Wellness Council for their January programs: 

*         Simple chair and desk exercises presented by Meg LeBeau, Tuesday, January 19, 12 – 12:40 p.m. in the Flynn Campus Center Brighton Room. 

*         Cook Without a Book, ideas for making quick and easy winter soups, presented by Michelle Bartell, chair of the Hospitality Department,  Wednesday, January 20, 12 – 1 p.m., Hospitality Lab (3-140).  Seating is limited, be sure to RSVP early!

*         Excellus Winter Activities Presentation: Interested in learning more about snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and more? Join us Thursday, January 21, 12 – 1 p.m. in the Flynn Campus Center Brighton Room.

*         Try Broomball for Free Event @ Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, January 9, 2016, 3 – 4 p,m,, equipment provided.  This is a co-ed adult event (18+).   For more information go to: https://www.billgraysiceplex.com/broomball.html. If this is the activity for you, Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex offers a co-ed/rec division league.  MCC students, faculty, and staff receive a 15% discount on registration!

*         Eager to join a gym, but not sure which one to commit to?  Check out the attached Healthways Fitness Your Way™ flyer. 

Healthways Fitness Your Way™ is a great way to get healthy and feel good on your own terms. A first-of-its-kind fitness program, Healthways Fitness Your Way offers you the flexibility to work out at any network fitness location, on your time and on a budget that you can live with. It’s one of the most flexible, affordable and accessible ways to adopt a healthy lifestyle and remain committed to it.  $25 enrollment fee is waived during the month of January.

The MCC Wellness Council is happy to provide information and programs promoting wellness at work.  We need your input to ensure we are planning programs that are interesting and accessible to YOU.  Please consider completing a short interest survey that will be e-mailed to you on January 27, 2016 to assist the council in future planning.
