Students Compete for Spot in "Retain the Brains" Marketing Plan Competition

Student teams from Carmen Powers’ MAR 204 classes will compete tomorrow evening (April 29) for the opportunity to represent Monroe Community College in the regional “Retain the Brains” Marketing Plan Competition in May. This marks the first time MCC will send a team to this annual competition against teams from 12 other area colleges. The college community is invited to attend the internal competition tomorrow at 7 p.m. in room 12-229.

This year’s title is “Retain the Brains” because the objective is to “market Greater Rochester to 18 – 28 year old men and women by educating them about the benefits" of living and working here.

The competition is sponsored by the Rochester Business Alliance, Greater Rochester Enterprise, Greater Rochester Jaycees, Rochester Young Professionals, Tucker Printers and the Rochester Chapter of the American Marketing Association (RAMA).

The winning team selected on Thursday evening will compete at the regional competition on May 5 at the Greater Rochester Enterprise Offices, located in the HSBC building in downtown Rochester. The competition will run between 2 and 5 p.m.
