Imaging Update - Student Records

The Admissions Office has transitioned successfully to Imaging over the past year. I want to acknowledge the contributions of ETS Computing, specifically Bob Bertram, Barb Robinson and Sandie Rice, in their support of this project. I also want to recognize the efforts of our application processors (with a combined 86 years of experience). Informing them that there would be no more paper processing was a dramatic change that unquestionably created some discomfort. However, they responded to this challenge with overwhelming success and have become experts with an electronic workflow. Finally, Donna Burke has done an outstanding job spearheading this implementation and I am grateful for her efforts.

As evidence of our processing improvements, please see our application processing comparison numbers below. Certainly, notifying students earlier of acceptance facilitates getting our students tested, advised and registered earlier, and this has college-wide benefit.

Over approximately 100 faculty and staff have been trained with the use of Imaging and interpreting high school transcripts, directly supporting student advisement. Lastly, MCC has been requested to present on Imaging at the Middle States Northeast Regional Conference next month, which is another positive recognition for the College.

Here is an update on our admissions application processing as of 11/21/02:
Spring 2003:

11/21/01 11/21/02 Change
110 274 +164

While it is still early in the processing cycle, these figures are quite encouraging. We feel that the increase in applications processed is directly related to the implementation of imaging. This technology has enabled us to improve our efficiency.
