Student Leaders Raise $2,500 for Water for Sudan

Holocaust Genocide Studies Project student leaders were proud to present MCC alumnus Salva Dut with another check for $2,500 to support Water for Sudan on June 19. <https://www.waterforsudan.org

The money was raised through hosting special events such as a car wash at Sam’s Club and a “Liar’s Dice tournament”; partnering with The Little Theatre and Phi Theta Kappa, collecting donations and selling bottled water at OutFlakes.

Dut was on campus for Angelique Stevens’ presentation on her journey to Sudan. He credits his MCC education for helping him succeed in life and as the founder of Water for Sudan. To date, the organization has built 29 fresh water wells in Southern Sudan, changing the lives of over 150,000 people.
