On Friday, November 18, 2011, the Board of Directors of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) approved the appointment of Valarie Avalone, Director of Planning and Chair of MCC’s Sustainability Steering Committee, to the Advisory Council of AASHE. The appointment is for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2014.
Responsibilities of the AASHE Advisory Council include providing advice on strategic direction and programs to AASHE’s Board of Directors and staff and promoting linkages between sustainability in higher education and in businesses, nonprofits, and government.
