News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Monroe B on the Brighton Campus on Monday, December 5, and took the following actions:

1.            Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of August 31, September 30 and October 31, 2016.

2.            Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of August, September and October 2016.

3.            Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $70,816.

4.            Amended the 2015-2016 Operating Budget to increase Total State Operating Aid from the budgeted amount of $36,915,396 to the final adjusted amount of $36,994,202 as submitted to the State Comptroller, with no increase to the Sponsor’s contribution.

5.            Approved the Annual Financial Report to SUNY for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2016.

6.            Approved the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan.

7.            Approved the phased-in retirement for the following individual in accordance with Article 27 Section E of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association of Michael McCullough, Library Services, as of 04/19/20.

8.            Approved the appointment of Rebecca Griffin as the Chair of the Hospitality department effective January 3, 2017. Ms. Griffin will receive a prorated annual stipend in accordance with the provisions of the current agreement with the Faculty Association.

9.            Adopted the “Copyright and Faculty Ownership of Intellectual Property Policy” effective December 5, 2016.  The policy can be found on the policy web page <https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/policy/> .

10.        Approved the non-rank promotion of Aubrey Zamiara, Services for Students with Disabilities, from Director II to Director I in accordance with Article 52 of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association effective September 1, 2016.

11.        Adopted the “Media Relations Policy” effective December 5, 2016.  The policy can be found on the policy web page <https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/policy/> .

12.        Conducted an Executive Session pursuant to Public Officers Law §105, subsection (e): collective negotiations pursuant to Article 14 of the Civil Service Law and subsection (f): the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation.

The Board heard presentations from President Anne Kress on the College's recently completed economic impact report; Provost and VP, Academic Services Andrea Wade on the Schools at MCC; Chair John L. Bartolotta and Trustee Allen K. Williams on the ACCT Leadership Congress; and MCC Foundation Board Chair Jeremy Wolk on foundation activities.
