Celebrating Philanthropy: AFP Award Nominees & MCC Alumni Timothy & Robin Wentworth

In honor of National Philanthropy Day, November 5, the Monroe Community College Foundation has nominated individual and corporate donors for Association of Fundraising Professionals Genesee Valley Chapter awards. The award recipients will be announced today at a luncheon at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Please join the MCC Foundation in honoring the dedication and philanthropy of Timothy C. and Robin L. Wentworth, members of the MCC Class of 1980.

Tim and Robin made an enormous impact on student success at MCC with their first, generous gift of $250,000. Robin studied music at MCC. Her passion for the MCC Music Department was the motivation behind the couple’s gift of a new Steinway piano to inspire current and future music majors. The piano arrived on campus in February 2010. (See the video and listen to the beautiful sound of the Steinway at

A member of the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame, Tim is a business administration/economics program graduate. He expressed the couple’s appreciation for MCC and the educational opportunities the college offers by establishing an endowed scholarship at the MCC Foundation. As a former scholarship recipient who would not have been able to attend MCC without financial assistance, Tim wanted to give other students the similar opportunities to pursue academic excellence at MCC.

Please take a moment to read the nomination attached below and join the MCC Foundation and the Greater Rochester community in honoring the dedication and philanthropy of Tim and Robin Wentworth.
