Assistant Director, Counseling and Advising Center


I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Susan Roxin as the Assistant Director in the Counseling and Advising Center.  Dr. Roxin has a Ph.D. and a Master of Education in Counseling Education from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nazareth College.  She comes to MCC from Nazareth College where she was the Assistant Director of Counseling Services from 1989 to 1999 and an Assistant Professor for the Creative Arts Therapy department from 2003 to 2007.   She also was Co-Coordinator of the Internship Program for Nazareth College from 2004 to 2007 and a Lecturer from 2002-2003.  Since 1984 Dr. Roxin has practiced privately counseling individuals, couples and families.   She was a Lecturer at State University of New York at Brockport for the Department of Counselor Education from 2003 to 2005.  She has management consulting experience working as Vice President for Roxin & Company, Inc. from 1998 to 2002.  During the summers of 1980 to 1986, Dr. Roxin worked part-time as a Supervisor for the Rochester Psychiatric Center at Parkside Facility in Rochester.  She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).  She is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, New York State Mental Health Counselors Association and Treasurer for the NYS Mental Health Counselors Association/Greater Rochester Area Chapter.
