MCC Chosen to Host ASACC Summer Institute Conference

I am proud to announce that MCC was selected as the host college for the American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC) Summer Institute Conference. ASACC is a national student organization which advocates politically on behalf of community college students on certain issues such as financial aid and child care. The conference will be held June 15-18, 2005, in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center and will include students, administrators, and student organization advisors from throughout the country.

The main focus of the conference is to provide certification training for advisors working with student organizations. The Brighton Student Government Association and Damon Student Events and Governance Association members have been actively involved in ASACC and have held leadership positions within ASACC over the past few years. Dr. Kenneth Humphrey, SEGA faculty advisor, is currently serving on the ASACC Advisor Network Executive Board as Vice President for Communications. MCC's ASACC Conference Planning Committee includes Richard Ryther, Elizabeth Stewart, Dr. Kenneth Humphrey and Pamela Weidel.
