Mark Pastorella Speaks at CASE Conference

Yesterday, Dec. 9, Mark Pastorella, director of alumni, annual and planned giving at the Monroe Community College Foundation, led an interactive workshop on “Connecting Through Community College Alumni Programs” at the 33rd annual CASE District V Conference in Chicago. About 30 workshop attendees explored best practices around alumni programs at two-year institutions and ways to engage and re-connect alumni to their respective colleges—a current “hot topic” among community college foundations.

Pastorella was asked to lead the program because of the success of the MCC Foundation’s Alumni programming, including Alumni Week and Homecoming, the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame and special reunions. Under Pastorella’s leadership, alumni programming and the MCC Annual Fund continues to grow and attract alumni donors. In 2006-2007, 1,300 alumni gave to the MCC Foundation.

CASE District V is the Great Lakes District of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Its annual conference attracts over 1,800 participants representing 400+colleges in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. (MCC is a member of CASE District II, the Middle Atlantic District.)
