Is Your Outlook Signature Double Spaced?

Do you have an automatic signature?  Does it show double spaced now with Outlook 2003?

To create or edit a signature follow these steps…
'Tools', 'Options', 'Mail Format' (tab), click the 'Signature' button.
To create a signature click the 'New' button, to edit, highlight the signature and click the 'Edit' button.
The text of the signature will display.  Place the cursor at the end of the first line of text.
Press the 'Delete' button (on the keyboard), now immediately press 'Shift & Enter'.
Do this for each line of your signature.
Click OK all the way out.

Explanation:
The extra line spacing is caused by the interactions between Outlook and your editing application, such as Microsoft Office Word.

In the old signature, when you pressed ENTER at the end of a line, a <br> tag was inserted in the code used for the signature. A <br> tag is used in HTML to create a line break. However, depending on which editing application you use to create your signature, a <p> tag (a paragraph tag) might be inserted. A <p> tag is interpreted by Outlook as a line break plus an extra line space.

Note:  HTML tags are not typically visible unless you are using the code view of an HTML editor.
