MCC Celebrates a Significant Milestone in Online Learning

In the fall of 1997, MCC began its online program with four online faculty, four courses and 31 students. Since then, more than 20,000 students have logged on and taken advantage of an opportunity made possible through the wonders of technology -- to pursue their education and their dreams through online courses.

Today, the College has over 150 trained online faculty members and is considered one of the hallmark SUNY Learning Network institutions in online enrollments, online courses and online learning practices.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11th, MCC celebrated a decade of continued growth and innovation.  During the anniversary event, Jeff Bartkovich, ETS vice president and unofficial godfather of distance learning, received a certificate of recognition and a DVD of “The Godfather “movie.  Awards (certificates and a crystal computer mouse) were also given to several of those individuals whose efforts have made a significant impact on the success of SLN at MCC. We thank them for their dedication.
