Welcome These New Employees


Jim Simmonds is an instructor in the Visual and Performing Arts Department.  Jim earned a M.A. and B.A. from Bowling Green State University and a M.A. from the International School of Theology.  Jim previously taught at Western Nebraska Community College, Savannah College of Art and Design and Daytona Beach Community College. 

Elizabeth Zion Stratton is an instructor in the Nursing Department.  Liz earned her registered nurse certification at the University of California.  She also has a B.A. from SUNY Geneseo.  Liz has been employed as a nurse educator in the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development at Strong and has taught as an adjunct here at MCC.

Lee Struble is the director of public safety and came to MCC with over 23 years of experience in campus security.  He has a bachelor’s degree in History from Maryville, Tennessee.   Lee most recently was the director of campus safety at Nazareth College.  He coordinates the Rochester Area Campus Security Administrators Group and he has provided security consulting and training to several colleges and universities throughout the United States. 

Susan Teerlinck is desk attendant at the Campus Center Service Desk.  Susan comes to us from the East Irondequoit School District where she was a receptionist and spent 16 years in Office Administration.

Mary Ann Ward is a specialist in the Institutional Research Office.  Mary Ann earned a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.A. from SUNY Potsdam.  Since her graduation, she has been working at 1199 SEIU/Employer Child Care Fund where she was the coordinator of research and development.

E. Jamall Watkins is a counselor in our Counseling and Advising Center.  He has a M.S. in Counseling and Education from SUNY Brockport ; a B.S. in Communications from SUNY Brockport; and an A.A.S. from MCC.  EJ most recently worked for the UofR Medical Center/Strong Memorial Hospital as director of the Rochester community mobile crisis team, Department of Behavior Health.  He is a national certified counselor and a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). 

  

Karen Wells is an instructor in the Mathematics Department.  Karen earned a M.S. at Buffalo State College, M.S. and B.A. from SUNY Geneseo and an A.S. from MCC.  Karen has been an adjunct and tutor for the department and substitute teacher for the West Irondequoit Central School District.

Julie White is the assistant director of Student Services at the Damon City Campus and concurrently acting as the interim associate director of Student Services.   She has a master of education degree in counseling from Xavier University and B.S. in Education for English Literature from Miami University.  Julie comes to MCC from Rochester Institute of Technology where she had been director of human subjects research and a senior research administrator since 2004.   

  

Tracy Wyant is an instructor in the Education Department.  Tracy earned a M.S. from SUNY Brockport and B.A. from SUNY Cortland.  She has been an adjunct for the department since 2003, an adjunct at Nazareth College and taught for the Gates-Chili and Palmyra-Macedon school districts.
