Annual Essay Contest Topic Announced

The question: "What can happen when individual human rights are not protected?" is this year's topic for the Anna and Joseph Gartner Foundation Annual Essay Contest offered by MCC's Holocaust Genocide Studies Project.

The essay contest is open to middle school, high school and undergraduate college students. Essay writers must demonstrate knowledge about the Holocaust and provide a connection to current world events. Essays will be judged on presentation and historical accuracy.

Please encourage MCC students to submit an original essay and five copies to Sharon Dobkin, Ed.D., professor of Psychology and director of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project by April 1, 2003.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third prizes at the Yom HaShoah Commemoration on April 29, 2003 at the Memorial Art Gallery.

For details, please call Valerie Keller, project assistant, at x3321.
