<p>SUNY and MCC take seriously our shared responsibility for the health and safety of faculty, staff and students, and also for our communities. As the semester comes to a close and as the number of positive COVID-19 cases continue to rise across our state and county, we want to ensure that leaving campus is done in a manner that is safe.</p>

<p><strong>MCC Health Services and Public Safety will host COVID-19 <a href="https://www.monroecc.edu/coronavirus/pooled-covid-19-testing/">pooled (saliva) testing</a> sessions between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14 and Tuesday, Dec. 15 in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe A/B) to conclude the fall semester. (No appointment necessary).</strong></p>

<p><strong>Mandatory Testing of Students</strong><br />
All students living on campus, taking at least one class/lab on campus, utilizing services on campus (e.g., library), or working on campus must receive a COVID-19 test within 10-days prior to the campus closing on Thursday, Dec. 24. Student compliance will be tracked.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.monroecc.edu/coronavirus/suny-sanctions-in-response-to-covid-19-violations/">SUNY-mandated sanctions</a> may apply.&nbsp;Students who participated in pooled testing at MCC on Dec. 8 must also test next week.</p>

<p>The following students may be exempted from the mandatory pooled testing:</p>

<ul>
<li>Non-residential students not taking any classes on campus nor utilizing any in-person campus services (i.e., fully remote students).</li>
<li>Students providing documentation of a COVID-19 diagnostic result within the 10-day period. (Results should be sent to <a href="mailto:studentrights@monroecc.edu">studentrights@monroecc.edu</a> by Dec. 22.)</li>
<li>Students providing documentation to the campus of a previous positive COVID-19 diagnostic result. (Please note: The limited number of students who tested positive after Sept. 14, 2020 should not participate in pooled testing on Dec. 14 or Dec. 15.)</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Testing of Faculty and Staff</strong><br />
Faculty and staff who teach and work on campus are strongly encouraged to participate in pooled testing on Dec. 14 or Dec. 15. (No appointment necessary.)</p>

<p><strong>Quarantine and Isolation</strong><br />
MCC is prepared to assist students who test positive for COVID-19 and who are directed by the Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) to quarantine or isolate and need to do so on campus. Any non-residential student, faculty or staff who tests positive for COVID-19 or has been exposed to COVID-19, within 14-days before the fall closing must follow the guidance of the MCDPH on the length of isolation/quarantine and release protocols.</p>

<p><strong>Safety Protocols Reminder</strong><br />
Faculty, staff and students should limit contact, wear masks, and practice social distancing upon taking their COVID-19 test and departure from campus in order to avoid any potential exposure. Please continue to practice <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html">precautionary measures</a> even when you have departed from campus in the time between semesters.</p>

All On-campus Students Required to Test Negative for COVID-19 Prior to the End of the Fall Semester

The following information is based on SUNY’s COVID-19 testing policy issued in October 2020.
