Employee Parking Lot A Entrance Receives a Make-Over - New Gate and License Plate Reader to be Operational in January 2015


A new entrance gate, complete with license plate reader (LPR) technology, has been installed at the entrance to employee parking Lot A.  Lot A is located next to the Registration/Financial Aid Services Building 6.  The red and white striped gate and the LPR technology are undergoing final testing by Parking Services staff and are expected to be fully operational in January, 2015.  The new gate will function the same as the gates located in employee Lot K and Lot P.

Once operational, the LPR will “scan” your vehicle license plate as you slowly approach the Lot A entrance gate, causing the gate to automatically open.  The system works correctly only if your license plate is registered with Parking Services.  If the gate does not open, you can use your MCC identification card on the swipe reader located at the gate.  But, please contact the Parking Services Office so we can troubleshoot the problem.

Employees who park in Lot A should verify that their license plate(s) is included on their “myMCC account” to ensure smooth entry into the new gated lot.  Employees may register more than one vehicle and there is no extra charge for registering multiple vehicles. Once registered in the new system, you may remove the obsolete white parking sticker from your vehicle if you have one.

Parking Enforcement on the MCC Brighton Campus is accomplished using LPR technology. There are two ways to verify that Parking Services has the correct license plate(s) for your vehicle(s):

1.      Bring your vehicle(s) registration to the Parking Services Office for verification/updating,  or

2.      Register your vehicle(s) on-line by following the instructions below:

- Sign into your “myMCC” account with your “M” number and password

- SELECT: BANNER tab

- SELECT: BANNER Self-service

- SELECT: EMPLOYEE tab

- SELECT:  My Parking Account


You will be prompted for a term (semester).  Select the current term

- SELECT:  VEHICLE REGISTRATION


If your vehicle license plate is not listed, click on the drop down menu and follow the prompts to add a vehicle.  After adding your vehicle information, click ADD VEHICLE. 

IMPORTANT:  The vehicle information you just added will display at the top of the page in chart format.  The first column is labeled SELECT.  Please click on the empty box in this column which corresponds to the vehicle you just entered. 


- SELECT: REQUEST PARKING


NOTE:  To inactivate a vehicle, you must contact Parking Services either in person or via email.
