Student Effort to Sell Stones Featured in City News


Holocaust Genocide Studies Project President Shannon Stewart and Treasurer Samuel Bradley were featured in an article called "Stone by stone" in the Oct. 19 edition of City news (page 5). The article covered the student leaders' efforts to sell 1.1 million stones to raise money for the Water from a Stone for Sudan and the 2005 Human Rights Series sponsored by the HGSP and the Brighton Campus Activities Board. (The 1.1. million stones represents the number of Rwandans murdered during the 1994 genocide.)

Students will be selling stones at upcoming series' events including the human rights panel discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 26  (7 pm) and a presentation by Lt.-Gen. (retired) Romeo Dallaire on Wednesday, Nov. 9 (noon and 7 pm). Event flyers are attached below.
