Spring 2022 Intake Survey Results

The college-wide Intake Survey was administered to new incoming students in January. The purpose of the survey is to identify any barriers students may have and address them prior to the start of the semester. It also serves to promote connections to the college and improve persistence, retention and student success.

Issues covered on the Intake Survey include basic needs such as housing, food insecurity and childcare as well as access to books and technology. All students who completed the Intake Survey received a phone call from a Peer Navigator. The results of the survey are below:

  • 75.9% indicated questions about getting the books they need for classes
  • 29.0% said they’d like to review their schedule with a Peer Navigator
  • 21.6% said they were interested in getting a peer-guided campuses tour
  • 26.5% indicated that they have questions about transportation (parking, bus, etc.)
  • 12.3% indicated concerns about having access to a computer or internet
  • 7.4% indicated concerns about food insecurity
  • 4.9% indicated concerns about housing insecurity
  • 5.6% indicated concerns about getting childcare
  • 62.3% were successfully reached by phone by a Peer Navigator!

If you have any questions regarding the survey please reach out to John Kulak.  Thank you to everyone who assisted with making the Intake Survey a success.
