Jackson Katz at MCC for Enough is Enough Week!

As part of our Enough is Enough Week programming, the Civility Committee invites the entire community to our upcoming visit by international violence prevention educator, Dr. Jackson Katz, on April 5th at 7:00pm in our beautifully renovated MCC Theater.  Katz is a co-founder of Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP-MCC) and is most widely known for his groundbreaking film, Tough Guise: Violence, Media and the Crisis in Masculinity  (1999).

This Sociology Film Series event will feature a screening of Tough Guise 2: Violence, Manhood and American Culture (2013), Katz’s follow-up to his original film, and a talk back following.  Katz’s books, including The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help (2006), will be available for purchase prior to the event in the Theater lobby.

Tickets are FREE for the first 200 current MCC students with ID and $10 for all others. All proceeds will go to RESOLVE of Greater Rochester, a domestic violence services agency. Tickets can be purchased at the door and/or at:  https://www.resolve-roc.org/

See the attached fliers for the full Enough is Enough Week calendar and for additional details on Katz’s visit.  Please encourage student attendance and come if you can!
