Operation: PEACE


Tuesday’s  Enough is Enough events were a huge success!  Let’s keep the momentum going.   Check it out what’s happening today…

Wednesday, March 6th:

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Brick Wall of Violence (North Atrium and PAC Lobby) -  Take a moment to tell your story of how you or someone you know has been effected by violence.

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Posters for PEACE (North Atrium) – Students from AAD 260 create pieces of art proclaiming peace.

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Shoes of the Victims/13 Stories of Domestic Violence (Terrace) – Take time to reflect as you interact with this display of shoes with corresponding stories of women who have been murdered on college campuses around the Country.

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Understanding Violence Essay Contest (North Atrium) – Students in the honors class HMC295 (Violence, Art and Activism) all wrote essays that argue the apparent ethical intent of one philosopher’s attempt to understand some aspect of physical violence.  Come read the winning essay on display all week.

11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. - Pillowcases for PEACE (Terrace) – Create a pillowcase for the women and children that call the Sojourner House home.  Words of inspiration, hope and love can change lives. 

12:00-1:00 p.m. - These Hands Don’t Hurt Pledge (Main Dining, Brick Lounge, North Atrium and Building 10) – Come take the pledge that you will not participate in violence. 

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. - Operation ID/FYE Resource Fair (Terrace) – Stop by the Terrace to learn about how to protect yourself from theft and get your physical belongings tagged so they can be tracked for FREE!  Plus, meet the Peer Mentors and gather information about our campus and community resources. 

12:00-1:00 p.m. - Military Civility in the Classroom (3-115)

1:30-3:30 p.m. - Speak Out Against Violence Open Mic (North Atrium)

7:30 p.m. - Get Active, Not Physical (Gym)– Like to relieve stress by playing sports? Come strut your stuff and get active!
