Integrated Learning Center Integrates Learning Modalities

The Integrated Learning Center at Damon City Campus is getting increased integration through a Perkins grant.

The ILC offered integrated services through its multi-disciplinary services. Now, different learning modalities are being integrated into the center, including the addition of four computers with training-assisted software, a smart whiteboard, and speech software so that book text is read to students through earphones.

Barbara Connolly, Dean of Academic Services at Damon City Campus, secured the grant last year. “The new equipment supports a variety of learning styles to help improve student success. The speech software program, for example, helps those who process better by hearing the words rather than by reading them,” she says.

Check out the new equipment in the ILC on the Fourth Floor near the bookstore.
