RSVP for October’s Adjunct Supper for Success: Demystifying Effective “Textbook” Use for Your Students!

“I read but I can’t remember anything”

“I never read but did well in high school.  How much will it help me in college?”

“I look at all of those words and it is overwhelming.  I don’t know what to study.”

Do you students struggle with how to approach texts?  What are the secrets to college level reading that will help your students maximize independent and reflective learning?

The Teaching and Creativity Center invites you to join colleagues at October’s Adjunct Supper for Success.  This will be an interactive workshop facilitated by Renee Dimino (ESOL/TRS and Interim Dean of Academic Foundations).  She will guide participants in the creation of text-specific materials and quick strategies that will help students understand how to use and relate to their texts.

Please bring a text that you use in your class.  This might be a textbook, an article, a word problem…anything that students have difficulty reading in your class.

Tuesday, October 18 2016, 5:00-6:30 p.m. Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B).  Check in will begin at 4:45, supper will be served at 5pm, and the workshop will begin at 5:20.

Please RSVP by October 11:  <https://qeasttrial.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_57pTUGaF2Ibq2RT>

Hope to see you there!
