MCC Employees to Serve as "Human Books" at the MCC Human Books Event on May 1

Several of our colleagues will be "Human Books" at the MCC Human Books Event, on Wednesday, May 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton campus:

Dina Giovanelli (Sociology) will focus on LGBTQ issues and youth.

Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry (Dean of Business and Community Engagement) will share her journey to self-discovery and self-acceptance growing up biracial.

Ronnie Pollack (Health & Physical Education) is a Native American (Mohawk/Anishinaabe) and the director of the Native American Cultural Center in Rochester. She will discuss how she balances, keeping one foot in the canoe of her traditions and culture, while having the other foot in the canoe of today's modern world.

Azwana Sadique (Chemistry) will answer your questions about Islam.

Eric Wheeler (Assistant Director of Career and Veteran Services) is a United States Army and Navy Veteran. Eric will discuss what it's like to serve in uniform.

More information about the event, including descriptions of all of our Human Books and how to register in advance to ensure a conversation with one or more of them, is available at http://libguides.monroecc.edu/humanbooks
