Title: Blind Spots: The Psychology of Diversity in Everyday Life
What does it mean to live in a world of difference? How do race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, and ability impact our daily lives? This talk presents recent social scientific research findings that speak to these issues. In addition, we will discuss ideas for how we can leverage our differences to live and work more effectively in our 21st century society.
Dr. Jonathan Iuzzini is Assistant Professor of Psychology and an affiliate of the interdisciplinary program in Public Policy Studies at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. He teaches courses in social psychology and political psychology, and his research focuses on group privilege and the predictors of support and opposition for public policies that are linked to social identities. He is the co-editor of a forthcoming book entitled Teaching, Learning, and Intersecting Identities in Higher Education.
