MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank Donation Period Reopened; Deadline for Donations is January 21

The MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank has been extended by mutual agreement between the College, the FA, and the CSEA.  The MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank was created in April 2020 (see the Trib article here). 

To help support MCC employees impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and to offset the discontinuation of available federal FFCRA paid leave, the College, the FA, and the CSEA invite you to consider making a donation of your sick, personal, and/or vacation time (only 12-month employees may donate vacation time) to the MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank.  The donation period is January 14 – January 21, 2021. 

Criteria for Donating Leave Time:

1. You must be in a full-time title and employed on an annual salary basis.

2. Donations must be made in increments of one (1) day, with a minimum donation of one (1) day of personal, sick, or vacation leave.  The number of hours that comprise a day for the donor is determined by the title of the donor.

3. You may donate up to ten (10) days of sick, personal, or vacation leave (or a combination thereof).

Donations are optional and voluntary.  Please bear in mind that in order to apply for leave under the MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank, you must have donated a minimum of one (1) day from your sick, personal, or vacation bank. 

  • If you previously donated during the initial enrollment period last spring, you are not required to donate again to remain eligible to access the bank.  However, if you wish to donate again it is your option to do so.
  • If you did not donate during the initial enrollment period last spring, you may donate during this second enrollment to be eligible to access the leave bank.
  • Under no circumstances may an employee be granted more than 20 days of leave from the MCC COVID-19 Leave Bank.

Prior to donating, carefully review the information in the COVID-19 Leave Bank procedure document and donation form.  Both are attached below and will be available on myMCC/Employees/EmployeeEssentials/HumanResources

To support employees facing COVID-19, now is the time to reopen the donation period.  If you have MCC colleagues who would make a donation but are not returning to campus until the end of this month, please help spread the word.
